Install a New Battery on Your Riding Mower – INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: Prepare your riding mower for maintenance
Place the mower on a flat level surface. Then turn off the mower and make sure the engine is cool. Remove the ignition key, engage the parking brake and remove the spark plug wires. This helps to make sure the mower doesn’t start accidentally.
Step 2: Remove both terminal cables
Use a 7/16” and 10mm socket or wrench to start the negative terminal.
Step 3: Remove the nut and slide the negative cable out of the battery
Screw the nut on the bolt and keep the hardware together on the cable.
Step 4: Removing the protective cap
Slide away the red protective cap from the positive terminal.
Step 5: Remove the nut and slide the positive cable out of the battery
Screw the nut on the bolt to keep the hardware in place on the cable.
Step 6: Remove the battery hold down rod
Press the battery hold down rod to release tension on the rider. Take not of the orientation of the battery before removing it.

Step 7: Remove the battery
Pull the battery up and out of the mower.
Step 8: Installment
Install the fully charged replacement battery.
Step 9: Pressing the latch
Press and latch in place of the battery hold down the rod.
Step 10: Reconnect the positive battery terminal
Use the 7/16” and 10mm socket or wrench to tighten the bolt and nut of the mower. Then slide the red cap over the terminal.
Step 11: Reconnect the negative battery terminal
Use the 7/16” and 10mm socket or wrench to tighten the mower bolt and nut.
Step 12: Reconnection
Now you can reconnect the spark plug wires and start the riding mower.

Finally done with mowing season, then store the battery in a cool dry place. After long periods of storing the machine, make sure to recharge the battery at a maximum of 10 Amps.
